Counselors Help Students Succeed in
School
Our counselors offer guidance and counseling services in:
- Career Planning and Exploration through the Career Cruising Program
- Individual Planning to help students plan, monitor and manage their own academic, personal and career development goals and progress toward them
- Exploration of post-secondary options for students, including career/technical training, two and four-year college, military and school-to-work transitions
- Personal and Crisis Counseling and referrals to appropriate community resources
Helping develop positive attitudes among students towards self,
family, and community. Counseling with students individually and in groups helps
to understand and appreciate their unique qualities, and grow personally and
socially, supporting students in developing an individual plan for academic
success. Assisting students to become invested in their school success by
showing them how school performance relates to career opportunities. Working
collaboratively with students, parents, and teachers to identify and remove
barriers that may impede student achievement. Facilitate building and district
wide programs that reflect student academic goals and future career plans.
Coursework planning to meet the demands of the Michigan Merit Curriculum.
